Hermon Living Water Ministries
Hermon Living Water Ministries (HLWM) is involved in Christian and social (humanitarian, medical and educational) work to very poor Indians (mostly Dalits) in a remote delta area of the Godavari river in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Primarily financed with generous donations from institutional and private donors from the Netherlands, Germany and Singapore, HLWM been able to build two children homes taking care of 160 children over the last few years. Education has been another area of HLWM’s work among the poor, with HLWM running elementary and high schools, vocational schools and day-care centres. Due to the high illiteracy rate in the coastal area, adult education is vitally important and is thus also being offered by HLWM in several villages.
A large part of the local community cannot afford a medical doctor, nurses or medicines. HLWM has been providing elementary medical care among these people since 2000. Moreover, HLWM has been involved in humanitarian activities in the river delta such as relief work after the Tsunami in 2004 or during annual floods.
The Dutch charitable foundation was registered in 2000. The German Hermon Living Water Ministries e.V., registered in 2005, financially supports the activities of the Dutch foundation. Since all directors and members work on a honorary basis, almost 100% of donations reach its destination in India. The Dutch foundation is accredited by the Dutch Council for Financial Reliability (RfB hallmark) since 2004.
We give hope to Indians in need!
